Federation Council Speaker: Putin`s decision will further emergence of two-party system in Russia
Leader of Fair Russia party and Federation Council Speaker Sergei Mironov believes that with President Vladimir Putin`s decision to head the party ticket of United Russia, the country has begun a transition to a two-party system.
"The actual process of building a two-party system begins in Russia today with Fair Russia on the left flank and United Russia on the opposite. The head of state at the top of the election ticket of United Russia will undoubtedly bring many votes to that party," he said responding to questions form the press.
In this context, Fair Russia will also collect more votes than expected, Mironov felt. "Virtually nothing will change for us. We will remain ideologically and politically opposed to United Russia. We have declared that," he said.
